  1. Today marks the beginning of #disabilitypridemonth.

I therefore thought today was a good day, to launch my new advocacy group for Brimbank residents who are disabled, neurodivergent or still coviding (and their allies).

It is a brand new group, so don't worry that there are no members yet (I literally just launched it)! It won't take long for our community to start rallying together for what we need.

The group is aptly called The 'Brimbank Disability & Neurodiversity Advocacy Group'. It is a private group and a safe space. You can join the group here 👇

  4. This is all I need today!
When I noticed that there was no online attendance option for Chloé Hayden's tour, I reached out. Chloe's Mum (Sarah), was kind enough to look into this for me.
Although it was not achievable this time, Sarah advised that they will now be offering online attendance as an option for events going forward.

I love it when event organisers; who had overlooked live-streams as a mechanism to inclusion, act on feedback and commit to removing such barriers to participation. Even better when they actively acknowledge your contribution and encourage you to continue the fight for better disability inclusion.

Will you now make the same commitment?

  9. I have been chatting to people in the ASD community about having online access to #ChloeHayden 's upcoming event in #Melbourne...many of you know I'm a fan 😊

Some good news there - my comments have attracted the attention of Chloe's Mum, who has advised they are now trying to make this happen!

Whilst I understand it might be too late for this to be realised for this particular event, it brings me hope that we might start to see online participation as part of inclusivity plans for every event going forward.

Online events are not just necessary for those of us #COVIDING but also provide a vital option for many with #ASD that find in-person events, particularly in very crowded spaces, too overwhelming.

They also help single parents who cannot leave their child to attend an event in person and remove financial barriers to inclusion for struggling families and those who live remotely.

Today is a good day and I take this as a win for all of us fighting for better inclusion!
