So New Zealand is doing better than little Nova Scotia. We have 1m population (NZ has 5.25m) and had 16 deaths November 26- December 2. (Most recent figures)

    And 82 new hospitalizations.

Yikes please protect yourselves people. Mask up.

  2. Got our flu shots and COVID boosters this evening. Hope to continue to avoid catching COVID, and also thinking ahead to the holidays - helping keep my elderly parents safer.

  3. Hey peeps, this is a great resource for actual hazard risk of COVID in Canada. It's estimated that 1 in 47 is currently infected here right now. You won't hear that on the news. Stay safe! Mask up!

    5) "Looks like signs of another #COVID wave in the ER," a source told me about the situation at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Montreal's suburb of Pointe-Claire. "More patients with COVID than usual, plus we had three with influenza the other night."

    4) And how were Quebec's hospitals doing on Friday morning? The province's emergency rooms were overflowing by an average of 122%, despite government measures to ease overcrowding. The ER at the largest pediatric hospital, Sainte-Justine, was filled to 119% capacity.

    3) The number of health-care workers absent due to #COVID is also on the rise for a fourth day in a row in Quebec, climbing by 94 to 3,749. It bears reiterating that such absenteeism is placing the province's already under-resourced hospitals under even more strain.

  7. @micropainter Well, to be clear, this is a republication of an opinion piece in The Conversation, written by #academics from McMaster and Windsor. It's not exactly the editor of the National Post calling for #masking.
(But what Catherine Clase & team are calling for is appropriate.) #CovidCanada

  8. CW: COVID public health frustrations

@dharrison I can very much relate to that. Living already with some of the symptoms that also come with #longcovid I am appalled how anyone would WANT that for the rest of their life. And how those in charge seem to be a-OK with thousands of people developing severe disabilities. As long as they prop up the economy by continued consume.

    Mind boggling.
