I say this with full admission that I am new to #DeepPurple, haven't done any background reading on the band's history, and my #music knowledge is limited. But FWIW: a lot of people say that Ian #Gillan was the band's best vocalist. But listening to their full discography in chronological order, things start to sound stale by 1972/1973 to me. In Stormbringer, I feel like David #Coverdale and the band bring a refreshing, bluesy sound. Looking forward to hearing the rest of their albums.

Sorry to see that #BernieMarsden died. He seems to have been a nice guy, and (with Micky Moody) was part of the musical heart of #Whitesnake back when it was a blues/pop band - before #Coverdale hit it big.
