In today's filing my counter parent argues they don't have to do discovery because I posted this very court watch thread.

"she ate my ex-wife like pizza"
Cop Lisa Phillips' lawyer is explaining how the town possibly seeing her as anything but straight is a fate worse than... I'm not sure what.

Just saw this mutual aid request for a SIX year old Venezuelan in Seattle who has court in four days(on 2/13).
She doesn't have a lawyer and activist believe other children will likely be in court the same day too.
Instead of calling entire families to court together immigration courts increasingly appear to be separating the children into their own hearings. Increasing the cost and stress of navigating legal immigration proceedings.

Huge breaking news out of NYC court today as the judge struck down half of the federal charges Luigi Mangione was facing. This means the federal death penalty is no longer in the mix.
There's some less great news, it seems the judge hasn't struck down the illegally gathered backpack evidence.

One especially ridiculous case, ICE agents abducted a US citizen walking home from the gym.
The agents put a citizen into handcuffs and dragged him into an unmarked car that had no license plates at all!
Once in the car they scanned his face using the DHS app MobileFortify.
The feds insist that they should be able to keep biometric scans of citizens obtained forcefully in roving raids like this one.

In a second claimed report from a responding officer at the New Hope cop shop the officer describes BOTH the woman driving the car AND the fed car jacking them calling the cops.
The officer seems to vary at times from taking the Fed's claim of "ICE goon kidnapped" at face value... also seeming to get a bit less clear cut after interacting with the woman who came to the police station.

Small update in this #courtwatch story, the DoorDash driver who ended up filming and posting videos of a naked DoorDash customer has plead not guilty.
The driver's next court date is January 20th 2026.
So if you think you saw any new evidence in this case... your probably didn't! Most "new" evidence lately have been deceptive edits and AI slop.

Some guy named Luigi is back in court today in NYC.
Topic of the hearing is the admissibility of illegally obtained "evidence" during the pretextual stop at a Pennsylvania McDonald's.
Mangione's lawyers continue to demand that the police actually produce the witnesses who ID'd Luigi.
They also point out how scared these cops are of Luigi looking normal in court. He's so shackled he can't even take notes at trial! 🙃

What a nice surprise!! Right now I'm sitting on the train and on my way to an event as part of the International Week for Anarchist Prisoners.
There I find you here on Mastodon with the news of my release exactly two years ago. Later, at an event in Wuppertal, which is in North Rhine-Westphalia, I will talk about the prison term and the importance of solidarity.
I have been able to do this again and again in the last two years, and I have also held various workshops on 'How do I write prisoners' (it is important to me that it is about all prisoners, not just the political and anarchist ones).
In addition, I regularly attend trials, with a focus on class justice. For a small non-commercial radio, I then report on the court cases.
However, I would not have been able to do all this without the solidarity support. Neither would I have managed to survive the 27 years in prison, nor would I have been able to arrive in freedom in life afterwards.

In other news the protest at the Seattle Immigration courthouse continues tomorrow with two protests at the building.The first protest is an all day court watch of immigration trials to ensure ICE isn't successful in kidnapping more people.
Today was reportedly quite, but more people helping to share the burden of this protest can really help keep things going!

Every step Rodeny makes in court is within INCHES of a snearing pig with a gun.

Luigi Mangione is expected in federal court later today.
The last thing I know about the case is that more than 100 days have passed since discovery has started, and the cops+feds have produced almost no evidence to Luigi's lawyers.
It's not typically legal for a common citizen to be this slow at producing discovery material if they were in the fed's position.
