One purpose of swift accountability is certainly preventing further harm from potentially being caused by known suspects.
And lacking accountability enabled Flynn to publicly condone a military coup like in Myanmar in the U.S., months after Trump's Jan 6 insurrection, which Flynn also supported/ assisted/ engaged in (Mike Flynn's brother Charles's role/assistance/involvement???)

@froomkin Possibly no one at the Capitol, although that seems to be pretty unlikely regarding pre-Jan 6 pro-Trump unrests.
The one, who asked the DoD for National Guard assistance ahead of expected Jan 6 rioting was D.C.'s mayor, Muriel Bowser — possibly facing resistence obstructing security measures by Mike Flynn's brother at the DoD.
