  1. Worcestershire win by five wickets over Gloucestershire which leaves only the match at Chester-le-Street still in progress. That match, the Larkins-Cook match (a Northamptonshire opening pair who both also had Durham connections) has plenty of life in it - Durham need 63 more with six wickets left.

  2. Next stop #Worcester, where the home county are favourites to win the #Graveney match up (Tom Graveney played for both counties), but a couple of quick wickets could yet make it interesting.

  3. The #CartwrightClash at Taunton will shortly be confirmed as a draw, bad light having intervened. I have turned my attention to the #ComptonClash (two counties for whom members of that family have played), where two wickets remain to fall and Middlesex are 65 short of the target.

  4. Play resuming at Taunton. Barring a crash of wickets there will be another hour of play before the players shake hands on the draw (Warwickshire never even contemplated having a run at what was quite a stiff target, and with only two wickets down it is unlikely that Somerset can do enough damage with the ball to make it interesting).

  5. Early wicket for Surrey as Asa Tribe and Billy Root end up at the same end and the latter has to go, run out by a combination of Pope (with the throw) and Clark. Glamorgan 0-1 chasing 195 to win.

  6. Surrey all out for 447, meaning that Glamorgan will need 195 to win. Time is not an issue - either Surrey take ten wickets to complete a remarkable turnaround in this match or Glamorgan score the runs.

  7. 50 for Tom Lawes, his second such score of the season. Surrey now lead by 172 overall, and Glamorgan my just be starting to worry.

  8. Minor landmark in Cardiff. The Surrey lead huts 150. Lawes then hits a four. There cannot have been many better last wicket combinations than Jordan Clark (genuine AR) and Tom Lawes (bowler who can bat).

  9. As well as the test match another round of county championship games gets underway today. I will keeping an eye on developments in Cardiff where the clash that I call the 'Butcher battle' (Alan Butcher played for both counties and his two sons each played for one).

  10. Mohammad Ali goes, caught by Ogborne off Craig Overton to give the big all rounder his fifth scalp of the innings. Nottinghamshire 166 all out, Overton 5-29, Ali out for 1, Fergus O'Neill left unbeaten on 54. The margin is 306 runs.

  11. Goldsworthy with a fine catch off Overton to make it 152-9. Mo Ali comes to the crease with five balls left in the over.

  12. Wicket number seven, a loose shot from Patterson-White sends the ball to second slip where Overton takes the catch. Migael Pretorius the bowler. Nottinghamshire 87-7.

  13. The procession back to the pavilion continues as Lyndon James is well caught by T Rew off Overton for 0 to make it 75-6, Overton's figures now 3-16.

  14. That is pretty much the result settled - Haseeb Hameed goes for 25, caught by T Rew off Overton to make it 69-5, and he was the only remaining Nottinghamshire batter with a history of playing long innings. Nottinghamshire 69-5.

  15. I am a little late back from my library/ shopping excursion, and I find that already the seven wickets Somerset need for the win has been reduced to six, with the Whatsapp man (Clarke) back in the hutch. I was hoping for some sign of resistance from the home side to make it a bit more interesting.

  16. The nightwatch has gone to the final ball of the penultimate over of the day, trapped LBW by Jack Leach (and it was plumb - pitched in line with middle and did just enough to hit leg full on). Nottinghamshire 47-3, with one over to go today and the whole of tomorrow, and 406 more needed to win.

  17. Thomas Rew claims one bit of family bragging right - he scored his maiden FC ton today at 18 years 197 days, exactly one day younger than James was when he scored his maiden FC ton.

  18. Thomas Rew is keeping because James Rew is en route to London to join up with the England squad, since Somerset can cope without him in the field, with younger brother Thomas, fresh from his maiden FC hundred, quite capable of keeping wicket.

  19. A good low catch behind the stumps by Thomas Rew off Overton accounts for Freddie McCann and Nottinghamshire are 36-2, chasing a purely nominal 453 to win. Brett Hutton has been sent in as nightwatch with 6.2 overs left in the day.

  20. Lunch on day one and Somerset are 63-3. Jordan Hermann, the South African, is unbeaten on 25 and Thomas Rew is unbeaten on 10. James Rew was run out in freak circumstances - a fierce drive deflected off the bowler's hand and into the stumps with him out of his ground.

  21. Goldsworthy goes, caught by Haynes off Brett Hutton for 8 to make it 20-2 in the eighth over. That bring James Rew in to join Jordan Hermann.

  22. It looks like the weather, which took a lot of time out of this match, will allow #Hampshire to escape with a draw from a match in which they have been outplayed from start to finish.

  26. Fisher is ninth out, caught by Root off Revis for 10 to make it 120-9, still 162 short of avoiding the innings defeat, and Daniel Worrall is a genuine tailender.
