Drove one of those famously bumpy washed out gravel roads with a thousand potholes still not fixed from last winter. Made it there, but wanting to return a few hours later, the car suddenly lights up with errors like a xmas tree:

Service Airbag! Service Immobilizer! Service Electronic Parking Brake!

The dashboard went all zeroes apart from a colourful plethora of warning lights.

The motor ran fine though, so we drove the short way home, guessing at the speed.

Tried again upon our return, same result. Opened the hood, removed the cover from the fuse box and reseated all the relays and fuses therein, several of which had jumped half out of their sockets on the terrible road.

Voila, all working again! 😌

The other "fun" I had today was a surprise reaction test on the road as I passed over the top of a hill just to meet a slalom course of several firewood logs someone had lost in the middle of the road, nicely spread out. Had to dodge left, then right and then left again. Felt like ADAC test driver for a moment. I like to think all the hours playing Quake 3 Arena in my youth paid off in reaction time :)

The driver behind me was slower and took one log on the front left wheel, the car doing a mighty jump into the air before coming back down hard and swerving. Kept on driving. Subaru Outback 🤷

Also someone slow-motion crashing into another car on the iced over parking lot, cracking a bunch of fancy Audi plastic bumper parts that probably cost a fortune!

The driver behind me was slower and took one log on the front left wheel, the car doing a mighty jump into the air before coming back down hard and swerving. Kept on driving. Subaru Outback 🤷

Also someone slow-motion crashing into another car on the iced over parking lot, cracking a bunch of fancy Audi plastic bumper parts that probably cost a fortune!

The other "fun" I had today was a surprise reaction test on the road as I passed over the top of a hill just to meet a slalom course of several firewood logs someone had lost in the middle of the road, nicely spread out. Had to dodge left, then right and then left again. Felt like ADAC test driver for a moment. I like to think all the hours playing Quake 3 Arena in my youth paid off in reaction time :)
