Friday night at the movies: a fan favorite here amongst myself, Nubs and Gizmo (they don’t know it yet but they did like the car chase through the mall) featuring the best rendition of a country music classic.

Charley Crockett’s ‘Lonesome Drifter’ calls back to his Deep Ellum busking days 🎵⭐🎸
The former Dallasite’s 15th album is his first with a major record label.
Crockett is more of an “underground legend, somewhere between Larry McMurtry and Charles Bronson.”

The most unexpected and excellent thing I have heard for many years - Jim Reeves reading Edgar Allan Poe's Anabel Lee from his 1961 LP Talkin to Your Heart.

There’s something poetic about Ringo Starr- the 84 year old drummer who was always rock and/or roll’s affable timekeeper- releasing a song called ‘Time on My Hands.’

Out weeding the garden, which has been sadly neglected, and got my #CountryAndWestern playlist for motivation. Country music seems perfect for yardwork.

Good Morning #Canada
#HappyBiirthday to Eilleen Regina Edwards, better known as Shania Twain, born August 28, 1965. Shania has sold over 100 million records, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time and the best-selling female artist in country music history. She's also very attractive.... I may be a bit smitten....#CanadaIsAwesome #CountryAndWestern

"Country music has all the trappings of heteronormativity and sexism. It's such a boys club. It's such a white club. It's such a Republican club. Not being like any of those things and trying to make a space outside of all of those things with others who were really into it was so healing."
Julian Talamantez Brolaski discusses launching the current queer country scene and more.
