"The idea that #disinformation and #hate can only be combated through direct #counterspeech on these platforms assumes that genuine, fair discourse takes place there. But that is precisely not the case. The #algorithms of these platforms are optimized to maximize #engagement/attention - and this is most effectively done through polarization, anger and controversy. Opposition is amplified not because it is particularly effective, but because it creates conflict that triggers more interaction.
In other words: Those who argue against disinformation on these platforms paradoxically contribute to the further dissemination of precisely this content. Contradiction is not treated as a corrective, but as fuel for the spread of disinformation."

Da überleg ich kurz, was eigentlich noch getan hätte werden können, um es diesem ganzen #Fascho-, #FakeNews- & #H8speech-Scheiß zumin. nicht ganz so einfach zu machen, komme auf die Idee eines #counterspeech #socialbot - für die Gegenseite sind schließlich auch unzählige aktiv - und muß resigniert feststellen, daß es seit 1997 drei (3!) Dev-Projects dazu gab; nicht fertig, kaum eingesetzt.
Übermorgen ist #btwahl und ich habe die Erkenntnis, daß eine weitere große Chance ungenutzt vertan wurde!

@Jain Weißt schon dass Leute #FakeNews, #QuatschJura und #Lügen posten und teilen nicht trotz sondern gerade weil diese als solche ebttarnt werden!
#CounterSpeech ist nutzlos und eine reine Zeit-und Energieverschwensung, denn die Leute wissen, dass diese shice verzapfen und teilen...
Gibt dazu sogar Studien mit fokus auf #NSAbook und wie Algorithmen die #Screentime maximieren daraus abzielen #Doomscrolling und #Echokammern zu fördern!

Und das wird ganz genau so weitergehen! Fake News, toxische Narrative, Hetze, Hass und Diffamierung...das sind alles zutiefst rechte Markenkerne, alles nicht neu ! Aber wenn wir für Klimaschutz und soziale Gerechtigkeit auf die Straße gehen, machen wir das auch gegen Demokratiefeinde. Komm‘ ins Team der Klimaaktivisti!

Since many are wondering what is happening with #Twitter, it is a mix of things.
Probably now is the time to treat it as a #hostile information landscape, where social/private #information is a vulnerability and should not be posted there any more.
In general, use twitter mostly for #counterspeech, #disengage as much as possible without ceding information space ground, and be careful not to get dogpiled/doxxed and take measures to #protect against it.
