At the beginning of the year I made a commitment to take my #phone less places. So far it's working out, in that I haven't consciously experienced inconvenience, and doing things like writing a list for groceries on paper is trivial.

What's weird is that I feel naughty, or rebellious in some way. Like that I'm getting away with something. The level to which carrying a #smartphone is normalized, and not having it feels off so much that it seems #countercultural, is alarming.

The key themes include #AntiConsumerism, #CommunityAction, #localism, and what activists call #PrefigurativePolitics, which is essentially the idea that we should live the change we wish to see starting immediately, not someday when conditions magically align.

"The 'punk' in solarpunk carries real weight. The movement is fundamentally #countercultural, resisting both technological determinism and the business-as-usual [#BAU] thinking that’s driving us toward ecological #collapse. Solarpunk centers #decolonial values, #PostCapitalist ideals, and genuine #SelfSufficiency rather than the performative sustainability of #CorporateGreenwashing."

Sometimes I feel like I have become less useful to the world simply so that the world will leave me alone.

This tendency of mine seems to increase with age.

I think it's a good thing.
