Travelling back through time to summer 2021.
Westonbirt Arboretum is located in Gloucestershire. It is managed by the Forestry England organization and is situated near the picturesque market town of Tetbury. Covering an area of approximately 600 acres, Westonbirt Arboretum is home to one of the most extensive and diverse collections of trees and shrubs in the entire United Kingdom.
The arboretum was established in the 19th century by Robert Stayner Holford, a wealthy landowner and landscape enthusiast. Over the years, it has evolved into a leading center for tree conservation, education, and research.
The Arboretum houses around 15,000 labeled specimens, representing about 2,500 different species from around the world. The collection includes a variety of rare and endangered trees, making it a valuable resource for both conservationists and researchers.
