Bonus question: what is your favorite holiday ritual?

My favorite will always be dressing up for Halloween. I still have a closet full of costumes and will dress up for any excuse.

We use to have a big dinner/watch a silly movie party on New Year's Eve but moving to a new area put the kabosh on it. We know 3 or 4 different folks that hold parties, so no one to invite . . .

Absolutely. It's part and parcel of the alternate history thing. Having been a member of the SCA and knowing a bit (just enough to be dangerous) about clothes also helps.

When I go to events, did I ever wear hall costumes or compete in any of the costume events?

I wore a lot of costumes and competed when I was younger. And thinner.

I still dress up when requested to judge cat shows.

Viking garb I made back in 2011. I forged the bracelet from copper, made the chain for the Centre drape, tablet-wove the belt, and hand-crocheted the laces. Sewed the tunic, apron dress, and cap, too. The wimple is a repurposed dupatta.
