Finally got back in the craft room today after a few weeks of just going in there, dumping things, and coming out again. I did some more work on my sideboard but it must be the world’s slowest project. I have been making costumes on my lap tray in the lounge but I am not sure about dressing dolls as a past time - really because of the future use of the dolls - would anyone want them? Why make things for no purpose? I’m not sure. So I thought I would try making some historic dressmakers dummies and then dressing them. This way I can make as many outfits as I like without needing to buy dolls or find someone who wants a dressed doll at the end. These actually look quite simple to do - I can turn the stand on the lathe and then make up the bodies out of spare scraps.

Once again distracted by the costumes in a c-drama; one character has a beautifully plaited kilt, another has a tunic where the pattern is badly printed and where the seam isn't even pressed correctly. Given that the overall standard is good, my head cannon is that someone set fire to character 2's clothes and the dress department had to do a last minute scramble. I envision a stressed tailor running cotton satin through a fabric printer while swearing like a brush maker.
