  1. Let's talk #futures and how that's going to impact your #pantry.

Tomatoes are a staple food in the US. We import a staggering amount from other countries. Or we did, until Trump's tariffs and tantrums kicked in.

Prices have gone up on #tomatoes by 40%. Crops in California are predicted to be impacted by El Nino with an 11% drop, growing regions in the south and southwest are also impacted by climate change. The futures market is suggesting that 40% is a resting point before climbing again.

Think about how many foods you consume that have a tomato component.

This is just a tiny, vertical example of how bad things are going to be if we don't enact regime change, and roll back everything this administration has touched.

I do not think (from the reading I have done) that Immigration ought to be linked to our #HousingCrisis. The proposition is arguably improbable given workforce, demographic, birthrates and net immigration data (the latter of which is carefully dialed in).

Secondly, such correlation (true or not) only incites #AntImmigration propaganda favouring #Fascism and #Ultranationalism dividing what should be a united and multicultural nation of immigrants (on a land never ceded) already suffering from #Bigotry and #Racism.

Thirdly — not finally — the current #CostOfLiving and housing crisis is a #PoliticalAct as is #poverty. The govt(s) well know how to mitigate societal ills, they just *Choose* not to act on them. Know your responsibilities when you *vote*.

    I voted YES
    I voted Labor
    I will now vote Greens

  4. #Trump also claimed there had been no discussion of exchanging money as part of the deal, a condition #Iran says must be included in any agreement.

How those discrepancies are resolved remain unclear as the haggling over the deal’s language grinds forward.

Maybe I’m an exception. Without turning this toot into a book, let me affirm right here that for this #boomer, life has been just as hard as it has been for anyone born after my generation. I’ll add that I was only able to afford my own house at the age of 72 and only with the help of close family members . Nothing has been given to me on a plate as an adult just because I grew up in the post-war years of relatively favourable redistribution of wealth — all of which, and more, has been clawed back in the last 40 yrs or so. As a parting shot, let me just say that all of our collective problems (talking about the 90% of our society) stem from the #neoliberalism which has ensured run-away inequity and the concentration of wealth in the remaining 10% — because we’ve *All* allowed it to occur (due to apathy, brain-washing, stupidity, misinformed, and/or many other faux pas) since the late 70s. All of this to say, I grow tired of all the finger pointing to a single generation for all the ills suffered by society since then. Believe me when I say, I never voted/asked for any of it.

Our first step out of this mess is a simple one, *Join Your Union* and fight for what is due to us all.
