  1. @repepo

Good to see that the tradition of #cosmologists having a broad view of the Earth-bound world is thriving. Two of #DavidWHogg 's #ArXiv_2602_10181 [1] overtly stated keywords:
    * "We beat ploughshares into swords" (p11)
    * "Astrophysics represents a borderless world" (p12)
What responsibility comes in paradoxically doing both? (#Manicheism fails)

  6. Seems like we have some more cosmologists on Fedi - hi @AstroMikeHudson + @telescoper - and hi @jaffe who was here on Fedi before me :).

Is the universe flat and infinite, or something more complex? 15 scientists from seven countries known as Compact collaboration has devised a new way of finding #topological clues.
Looking at the cosmic microwave background (CMB), photons from early universe The CMB tells us how the universe looked just 380,000 years after the #BigBang, when light was first able to travel through the cosmos unimpeded.

  12. World’s top #cosmologists convene to question conventional view of the #universe

Meeting at London’s #RoyalSociety will scrutinise basic model first formulated in 1922 that universe is a vast, even expanse with no notable features

  13. For decades, #cosmologists have mapped the distribution of mass in the #universe, both visible material and the mysterious dark matter, in an effort to improve our understanding of these fundamental building blocks.

  14. #Astronomers & #Cosmologists, I know we say that you can't see #DarkMatter, but can we please settle the question, what colour is it, *really*?

For references, see image in the reply (clockwise from top left, #Millennium, #Boshoi, #MXXL, #Uchuu).

    -

The Inflationary Epoch is a supposed brief period occurring shortly after the beginning of the Big Bang during which the universe rapidly expanded. However, cosmetologists have absolutely no theories whatsoever to explain why it happened, how long it took, or where the theory originated. They also have no intention to attempt to measure the B-mode polarization of the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation in order to provide observations to support the theory.

#TruthBeTold = A statement that is logically or literally true (or partly true), but seems to imply something that isn’t true or is just plain weird. (for rhetoric, logic or propaganda studies… or just for fun)

That's good news. If you convince any more #cosmologists to join, feel free to let them know I'm here. :)

As I said on 10 Oct 2020 [1], "once an active group [of astronomers/cosmologists] starts discovering the free world, the migration to freedom may snowball."

    And welcome. :)

  17. @lukas Since there are not yet many astronomers on the Fediverse, this is just a hello. There are even fewer #cosmologists here - so far. ;) It's embarrassing that so many astronomers and cosmologists (the groups overlap :)) have jumped into the FB/Twitter prison, but I think that once an active group starts discovering the free world, the migration to freedom may snowball.

  18. @kensanata

Thanks for the reponses. You've convinced me that there's not a lot of point creating a #cosmology 'trunk' list. Any more #cosmologists joining the Fediverse to escape the FB/Twitter prison will find me and each other here without difficulty, once I convince more to liberate themselves :).

I had a look at the astronomy list - thanks.

I'm still curious about how to add someone to a list. I've created a list. Where should I see the triple dot symbol? E.g. at octodon.social/@kensanata?
