In the case of this WIP, the cult leader also just happens to worship and receive forbidden knowledge from an ancient, eldritch entity.
But doesn't that definition remind you of something else, too?

So, I've been wanting to do a #HorrorShortFilm fest online somehow. Are folks able to watch #YouTubeVideos ? I have curated playlists that we could watch at the same time. OR, I could try and post individual videos and delete them afterwards.
Which option would work best for folks?
(And yeah, #PeerTube isn't an option ATM.)

Go Back the Arium Complete Box Set!
I spent most of yesterday running errands off-island and at the DMV. That sucked because I was away during the initial launch of something I’m very excited about: my pals over at Adept Icarus’ launched the incredible Arium Complete Box Set Kickstarter! Seriously, before you keep reading, go back it. Trust me. You’ll thank me later.
At its core, Arium is a collaborative toolkit for cooperative worldbuilding from designers Asha Ence, Drew Gerken, and Will Munn. (Who are all a delight.) It’s an easy-to-learn, powerful, system-agnostic toolkit designed for tabletop gaming groups, but honestly it extends far beyond gaming. Want to write in a shared universe with your pals? Making a video game with friends? Writing a screenplay with colleagues? Arium’s tools are designed to help you create your setting together and unite everyone around common themes, goals, and set pieces. Those tools have only expanded since its initial release. With this Kickstarter, Adept Icarus is combining its first two books, Create and Discover, with its new third book, Evolve, in a complete box set. (With a few extra-special goodies.)
Evolve expands the Arium toolset. It empowers groups to create maps together, explore character relationships, build the story in between the stories by determining events during characters’ downtime, and craft the gray area between truth and rumors that float through a setting. It is the perfect cap to an already powerful system and really rounds out the whole Arium experience.
And, of course, there are a bunch of bonuses. The basic box set comes with all the Arium books, and a bunch of handy quick reference cards, AND… two four-fold adventures/runs/one-shots. The first is A Match of Blood & Tears a romantic intrigue about a missing vampire influencer written by Steffie de Vaan and the second is… wait, hmm—[checks notes]—why… IT’S FROM ME.
That’s right! I wrote (and I’m also illustrating and designing) a little system-agnostic adventure called Ol’ Marsh’s Manor of Mirrors. It’s a little creepy, charmingly tropey, occasionally funny, and rooted in cosmic horror. I think you and your table would love it. It’s designed for flexibility and can be as long or as short as you want. I’m quite proud of it and excited that it’ll be included with the Arium Complete Box Set. As the staff at the Manor like to say, “You can’t escape fun!”
There are other tier levels as well, some unlocking new settings. Thesystem and Arcadia—where Ol’ Marsh is set—are both a must have, in my opinion. All serve to further expanding Arium’s tools to make your experience even more streamlined no matter what rule set/system you use. So, if all that sounds interesting, and if you want to wander the reflective mazes of Ol’ Marsh’s Manor of Mirrors, then head on over to Kickstarter and back us. (Then tell your friends.)
Oh, and when visiting, remember: “Do not feed the pelicans.”

It might have been the start of the space race, but there weren't a lot of options for peeking in on the goings-on of the brain back in the 1950s. It was basically EEG or nothing.
Which will leave at least one of my characters concerned and confused.

This quarter's classic short story is a tale of parallel realities, extra-dimensional doppelgangers, and the limits of human perception.

Starting to watch "The Last House" and I may be obsessed, but... that story seems to be so Lovecraftian and have some kind of William Hope Hodgson's elements from his novel "The House In The Borderland". Am I wrong or right? Who knows...

A couple of weeks ago I shared that I had searched "Outer Gods" for this WIP.
I've decided to couch my eldritch entity in Christian terms and iconography for very specific reasons. I haven't settled on using Leviathan yet, but the connection between the deep sea and deep space is obvious. -
