I took my #MeshCore node up there too and got much better coverage than in the dip where we live!

A cool grey day today, perfect for a walk up and around Corstorphine Hill. Like stepping into a river, the hill is never the same twice. Paths change, colours change, the atmosphere changes every time.

I always make a point of saying hello to, and spending some time with, the cup markings carved into the glaciated dolerite pavement on the western slope of the hill.
They are hard to see in my picture but there are eleven cup marks, nine of them arranged in a sort of pentagon with the two remaining marks in the centre. Their purpose is unknown.

I saw for the first time damage at #CorstorphineHill from the wind storm a few weeks ago — it was close to hurricane force winds.
Many downed trees 😔

Edinburgh zoo is located at the edge of #CorstorphineHill, the city’s largest nature reserve. Here’s a history of breakouts 😬
Zoos are terrible.

@hpk we made it, yes ✨💫 #Edinburgh. Here’s a hike I did today with the kids up #CorstorphineHill. Local nature has been charging my batteries and it feels great.
My son (9) climbed Corstorphine Tower this time (last pic is from the tower). He psyched up the courage ❤️ Stairs are a little steep.

#Edinburgh faces the Pentland Hills. They are nice. Here are some views from #CorstorphineHill and Braidburn Valley.

Today, a late afternoon walk on grass and limestone pavement to the dome of the city: I was bathed in the light of a pale ochre orb which offered no warmth.
