Wynn Jr. of the US Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit said his court was “out here flailing” as it tried to apply vague emergency rulings from #SCOTUS that left #judges “in limbo.” Ruling on a different case, Judge Allison D. Burroughs of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts noted that the emergency orders “have not been models of clarity.”

The court’s brief order said the nonprofit groups that had sued to challenge the dismissals had not suffered the sort of injury that gave them standing to sue.

While #Trump was shaking hands down the aisle, exiting the House chamber after his address last night, network cameras caught him as he turned to Chief Justice #JohnRoberts, patted him on the back, & said, “Thank you again. #Trump’s claim was absurd on its face: namely, that former presidents are immune to prosecution for any #crime committed under color of #law unless impeached & convicted. The kernel of logic in that argument, that the powers of the president confer some level of #immunity for certain acts, has been expanded beyond recognition to immunize Trump from prosecution.
