well, the paper is beyond me, in many ways, but the methods section is poorly written, but I infer , I think this is true, that the subjects were recruited thru some internet portal, so
we have no idea if the subjects are representative of the average person

Please #correct me if I'm #wrong but I seem to #recall there being less than 40000 federated #server accounts 3 days ago. Now that number has on my #Mastodon instance jumped to over 70000 and growing. This #fediverse is growing rapidly. And honestly, I'm pleasantly surprised due to #relay #traffic sources picking up quite substantially.

Another way Hawaiian performs better than English, because the word for right (as in correct) is pololei. We’ve all experienced a version of this stressful exchange:

they first argue that you’re supposed to do this “for reasons that should be obvious”… and that’s it, no further development
then they mention two “less obvious” reasons: one is because you’re supposed to be able to communicate “without interferences”… which, like, yeah that’s the only valid reason for standardization, but whatever
the other one is…….. to avoid being judged because of your accent or language manners
so if you’re being discriminated, the solution is hiding everything away and becoming #normal and #correct
