  1. #MarkCarney is attempting to force #Canadians into a “let the motherfucker burn” moment in regards to #climatechange and our country’s response.

Turncoat #Liberals and their supporting #Corporations are tripling down on #climatedestruction with new #pipelines, #aidatacenters, and #LNG, despite the majority of Canadians opposing abandoning our climate goals.

After all our work fighting Climate Change, Corporate propaganda now tells us “It’s inevitable, get used to it”.

What’s made clear is that the #economy means more to corporate owned politicians than our communities or our votes.

Ultimately, #Corporatism will rule over the people’s interest, no matter how much our communities will pay.

These #neocon #CarneyLiberals gave strategic voters in #cdnpoli exactly what we voted against, a conservative agenda.

This is political fraud, yet few seem to notice due to Carney’s #ShockDoctrine threat of a racist, fascist old fart who will be dead in a year or two.

Carney’s #Liberals are #traitors to our country and this #earth, every single one of them. Vote them all out.

  2. The European Union is planning a major hand-out to big corporations like #Bayer and #BASF, that aim to control the food chain even further. What do they intend to do? Scrapping safety and transparency rules for risky new GMOs, and let corporations profit from patented GM crops.

  3. As someone with an interest in cryptography and, I guess as an extension, tradecraft (shout out to Minnesota Spy Club), I thought it was interesting that the Irish military intelligence agency (formerly "J2") decided to "decloak" in the Irish Times:

It all seems reasonable enough but I don't know about the whole thing about protecting (among other things) "Irish business interests abroad." And then to tell us that they're working for "Ireland Inc.?" IDK. Not really the kind of public image that inspires confidence.

    QUICK REMINDER TO #ElbowsUp

#corporatism is #fascism. substitute “business executives” with fascists and you’ll get what #BuildCanada is all about:

❝ Build Canada, funded by major Canadian tech and industry players, proposed c̶h̶a̶n̶g̶e̶s̶ t̶o̶ sabotage a federal program that would quickly embed 50 b̶u̶s̶i̶n̶e̶s̶s̶ e̶x̶e̶c̶u̶t̶i̶v̶e̶s̶ fascists (most likely #techbros and #finbros) in the federal public service.❞

#Kunst #fascism #corporatism

  6. I see how it goes. When #China or #SouthKorea or other countries are concerned about #FukushimaDaiichi "treated" #RadioactiveWater #dumping and call into question #TEPCO's data, it's #propaganda against #Japan -- forgetting the FACT that #TEPCOLies -- and has been LYING for YEARS! Not sure why either #IAEA is believing TEPCO or maybe is complicit in hiding the data? Something's fishy (pun intended)!

  7. 2019: #BernieSanders wants to tax companies that pay their #CEOs way more than their #workers

Bernie Sanders has a new corporate tax plan.

By Tara Golshan Updated Oct 1, 2019

"There are striking pay disparities between those in the C-suites of the biggest companies in the United States and the average workers.

"An average American #CEO at a S&P 500 company earned $14.5 million in 2018, the same year an average worker made $39,888. Over the last decade, CEOs’ average pay has increased by $5.2 million. In ten years, the average American worker’s pay hasn’t even increased by $10,000, according to the AFL-CIO labor federation’s analysis of the federal data.

"A new IPS study found only five S&P 500 firms had CEO-to-worker pay ratios of less than 25 to 1. More shockingly, 49 of the 500 largest publicly traded firms have a median worker pay below the U.S. poverty line for a family of four. The median 2018 CEO pay at these 49 firms is $12.3 million.

"Publicly held companies are required to file their CEO-to-worker pay ratios with the US Securities and Exchange Commission as part of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010.

"These filings showed #Walmart paid its CEO 1,076 times more than the median Walmart worker last year — $23.6 million to $21,952. #JeffBezos gets paid 58 times the median #Amazon worker. The CEO of #TheGap makes a staggering 3,566 times what the clothing retailer’s median worker makes. These are the companies that would get hit by Sanders’s Income Inequality Tax. His plan would direct the Treasury to collect CEO-to-worker pay ratio data from privately held companies — and make it public — and also issue regulations around tax avoidance."

  12. 2022: #BernieSanders wants a 95% tax on #BigCorporations' pandemic-era profits to bring down rising prices

by Joseph Zeballos-Roig and Juliana Kaplan
    Mar 25, 2022

    - Sanders wants to hit all large firms with a 95% windfall tax on their revenue.

    - Under the plan, #Amazon would have paid $28.6 billion in 2021.

    - Its reach goes far beyond the #OilAndGasIndustry.

    - Deemed a "temporary emergency measure," the tax would only be in place from 2022 to 2024. The levy would bring in $400 billion in just one year.

Sanders: "We cannot allow #BigOil companies and other large, profitable corporations to continue to use the war in Ukraine, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the specter of #inflation to make o#bscene profits by price gouging #Americans at the gas pump, the grocery store, or any other sector of our economy."

  17. #ForestProtectors Arrested at #FairyCreek

By Brenda Norrell, Censored News, August 16, 2023

"Three forest protectors were arrested on Tuesday protecting the old-growth forests west of Victoria, as Canada continues to target #NativePeople with police operatives protecting the interest of destructive industries. The police ops are #BritishColumbia's C-IRG, the Community #Industry Response Group.

"Mourning the invasion of the #MilitarizedPolice squad who arrested the #ForestDefenders, who were his guests, #Pacheedaht #FirstNation Elder Bill Jones said, 'We are at the end times of our great forests.'

"Abolish C-IRG said, 'Due to the increasing amount of #indigenous-led anti-resource extraction movements in British Columbia, the Community-Industry Response Group was born. C-IRG is unique to British Columbia. They are militarized, have no budget limit, and the officers get paid handsomely to force #pipelines, #mines, #dams, and #logging through unceded #IndigenousTerritories, without consent. This is just another extension of the #RCMP’s original task- to remove and separate people from the land and enforce #ColonialRule. They do not keep us safe, they protect #capital."

    Background: Back to Fairy Creek

"The last time the world was watching Fairy Creek, we witnessed the largest act of #CivilDisobedience in #CanadianHistory. Well over 1,000 Indigenous and non-Indigenous forest defenders were arrested by the RCMP over months of tense standoffs in 2021 as #activists sought to halt the logging of rare #AncientTrees.

"The courts hammered that movement, with charges and bail conditions keeping many away, and the tussle in the trees went dormant for most of the last two years.

    "Until now.

"A new blockade, led by #IndigenousYouth and supported by non-Indigenous allies, has just been erected on a key bridge crossing an arterial logging road. The RCMP's specialized tactical team that responds to land defence actions is present and surveilling the camp. A raid could come any day, and having #media on the ground is of crucial importance to keep tabs on police and document the latest developments as land defenders seek to protect their unceded territories from old-growth logging."
