  1. 2nd Open Letter to Best Buy – Geek Squad

Best Buy WOW. I'm even angrier today than I was yesterday. I started the day at 9am with one of your representatives, per your comment on my post from yesterday. I was also communicating with the service center / supply chain / depot MP. I asked them about returning my non-defective camera lens and battery, and they said NO, they won't be returning them because it was part of a bundle. I still have the 2nd lens from the original bundle, are you going to have someone come to my home and take […]

  2. The conspiracy theory that I keep to myself is how Apple stole my idea and turned it into the iPad.

Found the section of my Apple contract where I listed the protected ideas that I came up with before being employed with them, and when I did it.

Signed the contract in 2006 and the iPad came out in 2010.

  3. The _Bottom Line_ of the

    *Great Australian Suckers *

    ongoing groping gas con

The final paragraph by Urban Wronski may serve duty as a TLDR; or Executives Summary.
(dark growling irony Frellin Total-ly intended)

""" The great gas con continues. Santos keeps drilling. Woodside keeps expanding. Origin keeps claiming climate credentials. Government keeps nodding along. And we keep pretending this adds up to a credible climate policy."""

"""It doesn’t. It never did. And every year we waste pretending otherwise is another year of liveable climate we’re not getting back."""

"""But at least the corporate reports look impressive. Very glossy. Lovely charts. Shame about the planet."""

    Yeah *bloody shame* that.

“Every dollar spent lining the pockets of CEOs and investors is a dollar less to upgrade equipment and protect workers and the public.

“Boeing failed to follow through with a promised $7 billion safety redesign of its 737 aircraft while it was spending roughly that much each year on stock buybacks.

“Norfolk Southern Railroad paid investors $18 billion in buybacks and dividends over the five years before its equipment malfunctioned in the disastrous derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, which released over 300,000 gallons of toxic and flammable chemicals into the air and soil…”

  5. Spotify tries to do something extra crappy to rip off authors of their works. Why did it seem like the creators are always at the bottom of every pyramid in the creative industries?

“He told us from the beginning we are coming here to exploit your resources.”

‘Riot got national attention when it got $31.7 million in energy credits in August 2023 for not mining bitcoins. That money came out of ordinary Texans’ pockets. Welcome to the future of bitcoin mining.’

“In addition, a 2021 agreement by more than 140 countries and territories to set a global minimum tax rate of 15 per cent for multinational corporations — to curb the shifting of corporate profits to tax havens — has been undermined.”

    Loopholes weaken the scheme.

"…carve-outs allow firms that have real economic activity in a low-tax country to keep paying less than 15 per cent in that country.

"As a result, they give firms incentives to move production to countries with tax rates below 15 per cent,” exacerbating the race to the bottom.

***the people that are most likely to evade taxes are the richest in our society, they are the largest multinationals.***
