  2. The risk for #corpcomms pros: some organizations will inevitably seek to pare down their communications departments. #AI tools will equip director-level leaders to generate their own messaging—quick, “good enough” memos. In other words, no communications team required?

  3. I don’t think #AI advancements portend the immediate collapse of #corpcomms as a field.

Let’s assume that computers CAN take over mundane communications tasks — copywriting first drafts, sourcing illustrations, etc. That frees up the human comms pro to think more strategically — and to develop higher-impact programs that foster human-to-human connections (e.g., virtual events; audio and video messages).

  4. Case in point. Now, it’s not the most inspiring copy. But it’s not an awful starting point, either. If #AI allows a #corpcomms pro to spend 70% less time on all copywriting projects—that’s significant.

  5. Are there #communications pros out there who are already using tools like OpenAI / GPT-3.5 in their #corpcomms work? It’s hard to imagine a future in which #AI *doesn’t* upend corporate communications, given how much of the work is writing.
