Kornnattern 🌽🐍 stammen aus Nordamerika. Dort kommen sie recht häufig vor. Ihr seht sie auf einem der Bilder beim Züngeln. So riecht das Tier und kann sich orientieren. Über die zwei Spitzen kann sie auf die Herkunft des Geruchs schließen. Sie zieht die Zunge ins Maul hinein. Dort sitzt oben das Jakobsonsche Organ, welches die Geruchsspuren auswertet. #Herpetology friends, can someone suggest a good warming lamp for a cornsnake and for some leopard geckos? I've become a long-term caretaker of one snake and three geckos and my house is too cold for them and the owner didn't give me any lamps. If possible I need lamps under 100$ so I can fundraise for them. I'm worried about them. -

i wish i could go back in time and shake my younger self. YES BALL PYTHONS ARE VERY PRETTY AND EASY TO HANDLE BUT THEY ARE STUPID AS FUCK AND YOU WILL WASTE SO MUCH MONEY ON DEAD RODENTS BECAUSE THEY'LL DECIDE THAT SINCE THEY MISSED THEIR FIRST ATTEMPT AT STRIKING THE RAT FROM THE TONGS, THEY JUST WON'T EAT THAT MONTH.
but ralphie? my precious little black rat/corn hybrid that cost 40 bucks? the one with the vacant eyes and little derpy lips? eats every. fucking. time. and even wants seconds. he will eat rats. he will eat mice. he'd probably eat a hotdog if I put it in there. he's the world's best eater and best baby boy even if he isn't the prettiest and he smells very bad when he gets ascared.
so if you're looking into snakes, go for a corn for your first, not a ball. thanks for coming to my ted talk
