The girls had fun at the Hadestown musical at the Lexington Opera House tonight. I used the quiet time to work on my tenure dossier and watch some #CornerGas

I just finished #CornerGas. What a wonderful show, and as someone who spends a lot of time in small towns on the (American) prairie, it was just like visiting friends. I can't wait to watch the animated show, but I'm going to give it some time.

There isn't much good about being sick for three weeks, but I have been re-watching one of my favorite TV shows, "Corner Gas," and I am happy to report it holds up better than I remembered. I need to watch the animated series now. Jackass!

Today was a crazy day finishing up a crazy week.

1. My talk at the #UKY teaching excellence symposium went well.

2. Lab and office are clean and organized for our academic program #ABET accreditation visit next week.

At first I was a bit offended by the #Davis character on #CornerGas . I mean, it is offensive. But, it seemed so overly-so, that I figured there must be something to it. I'm not sure I've been satisfied yet, but I think I'm at least starting to appreciate the character.

I mean. "Got any more 'floor gum' on sale?" is pretty tough to beat, as far as pretty funny dig on sheer gross stupidity and being gross, but somehow not thought of as gross because everyone knows you're just so stupid, they let it slide.

By then I suppose you forget all about him being a "#Cree man," and whether you have a problem with it.

doesn't really work because most TV is "white tv"

I'm sittin here trying to find something to stream (TV). I don't need to watch "The Conners". F-that. I grew up w/ people like that. No thanks.

I check out these #blackfamilies shows. That's something I can learn about. I ain't been there before as much. The situations are funny, because i might not be absolutely certain how each person might behave. OR don't know "the thing" they're doing, at all even. Something about shea butterj (sp?), or... you get the idea. [American] white people be stupid, by and large. no culture. tunnel vision.

Mix it up, at least! there are good shows white or black. crap shows likewise.

He is rude perfection.

I wish I could deliver his flavor of rude and get away with it like he does. Because, it's mostly charming. Somewhat irritating. And, probably rude, but Canadian rude.

I try to do it without the irritating part. I'm afraid I mess it up and it comes out mean. I dunno. I don t mess w/ stuff like that in my relationships. got off track.
