Changed my iOS aesthetic to something inspired by one of my favorite anxious kings in Coral Island: Rafael Sanchez! He's the hottie that I was going to marry in-game, up until I met Luke...
If I had known he was struggling with the same things that I do on the daily, might have put a ring on his finger instead.
The hints were there, but the math wasn't mathing until a particular cut scene with him. Ugh, too bad, divorce isn't a thing in Coral Island. However, I can husband him if I decide to replay the game in the distant future.

Coral Island is going well, now that I've locked in. The upgrades are flowing because the casual pace I've been playing at isn't enough to get werk done in-game. My farming operation is going to get scaled up for production of all the things.
Finally, putting the Slime of Replications to use, generating kelp so that it's always flowing. Those community projects that will propel Starlet Town to Rank S are gradually getting done; sourcing all the materials for this massive undertaking means dedicated days gathering various resources. My plan is going well so far, with only a few hitches, as I am very much an "Elves wanna have fun, hard work is for dwarves" person. My goofing off has distracted me from certain tasks, but getting back on track isn't too difficult. Adding to the schedule will have to be two days I just talk to all the residents after taking care of both farms and their respective animals.

I've been playing more Coral Island; boosting my crop quality, boosting friendships, and completing quests is quite fun. Still enjoying the new events for Luke, the husbando of this current save!
I still long for either Mark, Rafael, Scott, Kenny, or Pablo those pangs are relatively intense. It might mean that multiple saves are in order for Coral Island, as I have to get to know all the hotties! Stairway Games knew what they were doing with the husbandos, this is one of the few games that has an excellent selection.
Since the current farm layout is kind of pedestrian...Redesigning everything from the ground-up is a labor which needs to be undertaken. As I have enough money to buy outdoor decor, I need to unlock my creativity for this new project.

I rant sometimes that it's too easy to get rich in Sims 4 but at least thanks to it being a total sandbox it is 100% viable to buy a juicer, four berry bushes and then swim and tan all day and cook some juice overnight to sell at the flea market and make enough to get by.

Speaking about life sims / farm sims / casual games:
It's a bit weird that 90% of them are all "defeat the evil corporation"and then you spend the entire game grinding 12 hours a day to do Capitalism until you collapse.

Playing #CoralIsland… seriously, if you don't have it but already own Stardew Valley don't bother. It's carbon copy but with worse writing and UX, at least so far (playing for an hour or two). Even the map layout seems awfully similar.
The writing reminds me of Wonder Woman and other badly written stuff. The concepts they have are so heavily pushed in your face it's discomforting. T̶h̶e̶ ̶O̶r̶i̶g̶i̶n̶a̶l̶ Stardew Valley does this better.
Given the Steam reviews I'm very surprised, negatively so.

Speaking of Cozy Games: Many Farm Simulators (not to be confused with Farm Simulator btw) are so mired in tradition that if you don't know the genre conventions you have to google "how to" way more than in say CRPGs or adventure games.

Okay, the update that got me feeling excited for Coral Island again is dropping. It's the 1.2 Multiplayer and Romance Update, which adds so much cute shit and insight scenes for your married partner and other romanceable characters! You could be friends with many and get some updated scenes from hanging out with them.
I like that that Stairway Games didn't give up after the flop release of their initial 1.0 for Coral Island. They've stuck with it and are trying to make it a polished experience.

Didn't think a cozy game could get even near to the masterpiece Stardew Valley is, but it is AMAZING!
Literally, I have to be careful when I play it. 😱 It's a game that's hard to put down.
(Don't get me wrong, Stardew Valley still tops it ...but if you want something close to that joy, with equally beautiful flavor? Coral Island. :3 )

这游戏的传送动画音效和星露谷里某个场景音效一模一样，捕捉昆虫时的音效又非常像NS上的动森，角色2D立绘又非常迪士尼脸…
游戏里一些细节让人会心一笑，比如某个NPC的剧情动画是《#老友记》里一伙人搬沙发上楼梯ross高喊pivot的场景
说到游戏不切实际的部分就是，在一个人口寥寥无几（竟然有小孩子角色，我回想了下同类型其他游戏好像很少放小孩NPC）、没有任何支柱产业、半封闭化的小岛城镇上，竟然家家都有富丽堂皇的双层大house，镇上还有一个精装修面积庞大功能齐全的社区中心和一个具备各种高精尖技术以及开发能力的实验室……玩的时候就想这可真是左派乌托邦幻想（
哦剧情里还有大企业入驻小镇希望进行石油资源再开发未遂于是打算通过竞选镇长暗通款曲的（hello joja！）
最让我受不了的是镇上通过众筹就建起了一座空间有动森规模的博物馆，升级之后害我每次去博物馆捐助都要等待十几秒的加载时间……（不过博物馆里放了个当初给游戏众筹的捐助人区） -

只是单单3D化就带给游戏庞大的游玩容量，初上手时惊叹地图场景之丰富、物件细节之繁多，一边玩一边听电脑风扇全速狂转（
在游戏过程中竟然没有感觉到角色走路速度过慢，只是因为3D场景信息量太大经常记不住路导致迷路
差不多40小时就能把游戏的核心体验玩过了，不过这游戏和星露谷一样后期游玩时间可以很长，有很多内容可供持续挖掘，这一点挺好的
不过NPC都很无趣，我对触发角色事件以及培养好感以婚育没有半点兴趣，而游戏也允许玩家在不玩这一模块的同时不受阻碍地探索其他板块
这款游戏可能会和星露谷一样成为我电脑上的常驻游戏
其实有点期待它登陆NS，NS2即将发布说不定会迎来一波PC移植浪潮？ -

With #FFXIV in maintenance for Patch 6.4 I'm spending some quality time on #CoralIsland which is another farm/life-sim along the lines of Stardew Valley and its ilk.
It's an adorable game with really cute artwork and some interesting stories to go along with it!
