  7. I ran across the term “copula” in a mathematical context the other day, but when I looked it up, the first meaning that appeared was the linguistic one, meaning: a linking word. For example, in English, “is.” I also learned that the term “zero copula” is used to describe a language that doesn’t use linking words.
