Spent last week with Robert Rasmussen being trained to design & facilitate LEGO SERIOUS PLAY. Hoped it could be used for intervention development where the implementation is considered. Came away thinking it's better for surfacing deeper values, building consensus and highlighting connections and mediators. Great for complex programme theories and thinking through systems. Be interested if anyone can see how it gets to where a design sprint with stakeholders would get to #coproduction

A bit about me. I'm on the third pivot of my career. I started out working in international development (Peace Corps, then DC-based consulting). Then I went local and worked for a city-county unified government (Athens-Clarke Co, GA). 12 years ago I started my first faculty job at #ClevelandState. I moved to #UniversityofOregon in 2016. I study local government management. Lots of #coproduction scholarship and some #crowdsourcing. And finally some #publicbudgeting stuff too.

Introduction: in a previous life a doctor in primary care in Cardiff. Now work on #SharedDecisionMaking (supporting healthcare decisions when reasonable options exist). A way to help is to offer accessible information about tradeoffs. This is where IT and visualization help. This needs help from thinkers, designers, clinicians - anyone that can help democratize healthcare delivery. I make hay for the horses.
