It adds nothing to the article.

First off, those are red flags for all marginalized folks who have had human rights violated by cops.
Secondly, there's very little proof that most cops would do better, when given many opportunities to do so.

I realize I've been soaking in #copaganda for DECADES. I just stumbled on Cop Rock from 1990. I never watched it, but I'm betting it had some of the same themes & myths about cops, but with singing. Anyone watch it?
