I am a follower of Jesus, mutualist hobbyist programmer, and sysadmin (in that order). I'm passionate about #CooperativeTechnology, #smalltech, and liberating people all around within and without technology.

I'm interested in alternative internet protocols (#Gemini), mobile Linux, real sustainability, and various computer languages (including #Rust and #Zig).

@cadadr @blindscribe @devinprater Yeah, various kinds of relationships of (inter)dependency do exist between FLOSS & capitalism. That and other issues w/ FLOSS have certainly had some more or less toxic effects. There's definitely a need for new kinds of communities. Atm at least, I feel the ideas of a) #CooperativeTechnology (https://cooperativetechnology.codeberg.page/), b) #PostMeritocracy (https://postmeritocracy.org/), and c) so-called #EthicalLicenses are promising as pillars of such new communities.

You may be very motivated to start designing your future product now and research based on the product features you have in mind, asking for preferences and evaluate your product ideas with the users. But if you focus on the product now, your research findings will be tied that specific product—which may or may not be useful for your users. If you instead focus on the user, your findings will be independent of a particular product implementation.
