@zyk I agree with most posters that perseverance is the thing. Clear an area and it will come back weaker next year. Rinse & repeat.
While I have a no-spray garden I use Weed Weapon gel on convulvulus. Trace the stem down to the base & cut it about 25mm from the ground, dab some gel on the cut as soon as possible. <15 secs
Tip: never touch the WW gel to the plant. Drip it on. The product lasts much longer that way.
