Not sure that it matters.
AI in its current form (not the technology itself but the unchecked consumption of precious resources - especially energy and water, and to a lesser extent investment) will likely be the trigger for achieving unrecoverable #ClimateChange. No country/civilisation, big or small, wealthy or poor, progressive or ‘conservative’, democratic or dictatorial, will be able to flourish [survive?].
Unchecked investment and utilization of AI will be the nail in the coffin of ‘civilisation’ [if what we are experiencing globally can be truly described as such].
The #ClimateCrisis is accelerating. It is THE most critical threat, not just to human kind, but to most living things on our gasping planet.
It is almost past time for us to wake the fuck up.
