  1. Pretty much #convinced btw that #hermes might just be /the/ #slowest #package #processor out there

    The #Kinect 2.0. shipped 5 days ago.
    No change in status.

    iPad arrived meanwhile.

I bet the #MicrosoftSurface ordered yesterday will be here earlier too

    Wtf

  4. Dear Friends of the #Flip, :black_block_blob:
As we may #know, just when we have it all #figured out and #convinced it is true… :ablobblastoff:
What we know, what we #think, what is #useful everything can flip #around to its #opposite: :anonymous:
For #example I no longer believe in #Santa Clause. I know longer believe in #coincidence. I know people are #capable. The Tooth #fairy is a capitalist.

In this #sense #wisdom is #where we #find it, not where we are looking, #seeking #confirmation #bias etc. :ablobsplosion:

  7. Surrender

    If I could be convinced
By the gentle curve of your smile
By the delicate lines on your brow
By the sparkle in your eyes
By the tenderness of your touch
That I was worthy of your love
    Could I rest
    From the struggle to be
    Someone I’m not
And love you all the better

  9. How was the king defeated?

Oh, that's an easy one. He grew to believe he was invulnerable.

But he wasn't? Even though nobody ever captured his castle?

That's right. As soon as he stepped out of the impregnable building—

Uh oh. But why was he so silly?

Bedtime now, sweetie. I'll tell you how I #convinced him some other day.

  13. @tanweerdar

There was something odd about death.
He'd always thought that, and asked
Himself why machines could be forever
Repaired but not humans. He thinks of
The day she convinced him to work on
Something that might repair her, broken as
She was. Such was her shattered beauty
He hadn't been able to resist, and had
Worked all hours. She'd tried it on
Once, this wonder machine, and never
Taken it off. It killed her there and then,
And now she looks younger than ever.

  23. He was as guilty as hell. I was convinced of it.

My partner and I had been to the scene. Methodically, we had labelled each of the suspicious elements. A tumbler on a coffee table, still with a finger of whiskey in it. An empty shell case lay next to the couch, the powered residue still evident. In the kitchen, the scene was quite horrific.

I needed to be able to compartmentalise what I saw, otherwise I would go insane. Many officers cannot do this and I'd lost a lot of good colleagues to the job. This was the lot of every police officer, and something the public has never really understood. We keep the streets safe, but at what cost?

The police prosecutor had compiled a dossier of our evidence, and after weeks of investigation and tying up every loose end to ensure we got a conviction the case was ready to proceed. It was a heinous case, an all too common case of coercive control, with dire consequences.

I was beginning to fray around the edges, the job and this case were taking their toll. Flashbacks and vivid nightmares like a reel repeating in my head. Night sweats and panic attacks were the norm, with the intensity increasing. I had to get out, but I needed to see this through.

The trial had been long and arduous with the family needing to relive the trauma. They had strength and resolve, but their rage simmered.

    As did mine.

After long deliberations, the jury returned with their verdict.

    "We find the defendant....."

  27. Awestruck

    Light dances before my eyes
    A kaleidoscope of raucous colour
    Cavorting
    Flashing in my retinas
    Reforming my brain waves
    Therapy
    Convince me, I whisper
    Show me beauty
    Let my awe reframe
    My damaged brain
    Convince me, I plead
    That beauty walks this earth
    Tired souls and warm hearts
    In strong hands
    Convince me, I beg
That one day I can be so
    And take my place
    Among lights and hands
    And hearts
    To light up the world

  32. #Convinced by my own delusion
Created in the midst of The Confusion
I demanded them to believe, what I state
    Conflate reality with my illusion

But there came some, crying foul
“This man tells lies!” they howl
And so I attacked with hate
Made my followers beat their jowls

No matter how much they berate
    Shame to me is foreign
So I will foment and instigate
Until you accept my naked reign

If you defy the belief in my lie, you will die
