I agree, that communication is mainly a social problem. I'm using #Jabber/#XMPP since ≈ 2014 and almost all friends and family use it, too, because it's the best way to reach me. Even elderly people without much of computing background did not have any severe problems with #Conversations_im, #Monal, or #Dino. Only one person deinstalled it and went back to email.

But for "my" larger, less intimate groups, it does not work. Fortunately, they know how to reach me: Email or postcard!

A quarter of 21th century is gone and users still have problems sharing their files.

"The goal is that given a text of "Here is my Mastodon profile acct:[email protected]" #Conversations_im can link that directly into #Tusky. (Just like mailto and xmpp URIs open my E-Mail or IM app respectively)”

Would @IceCubesApp @MonaApp @ivory @surf @MastodonEngineering mobile app and others be up for jumping in next?

Tive um problema com a criptografia #OMEMO no #XMPP. A mensagem recebida aparece corretamente no #Conversations_im, mas no Dino fica:

Alguém sabe por que isso acontece?

I really think it is a useful feature and have been using it in Mattermost and Slack for many years.
