TIL: The term "cybernetics", which I thought had been laughed out of the room in the 1970s, is alive and well. Sigh.

A recent article in Science argues that protein consumption control in flies looks like something "cybernetic", i.e. a feedback system. And it claims that this work may tell us something about obesity in humans. Sheesh. "In mice" has been a running joke in biology for an age, and now we've advanced to "in flies".

It does talk a bit about code in general terms, but if you just want to understand the fundamentals of what PID does and what each term contributes.
