Good morning all! It's an idyllic start to the day here: windows open, light drizzle outside, room temperature, birds are singing. Getting started with some schoolwork so when I do nothing with my life the rest of the day I don't feel like such a loser 😆

Oh, let's do a three good things.
1. Slept all the way through the night.
2. I *think* I figured out my plumbing woes, now just need to figure out how to correct the issue.
3. As stated above, it is a damn fine morning, and a great day to be alive.

Many California drivers don’t know CA laws—e.g., that since 1 Jan 2023, drivers of all motor vehicles are to change lanes when passing someone on a bicycle whenever feasible, just as they would if passing a car.

We often wish CA DMV Handbook, etc. stressed bike-friendly driving, share-the-road rights of people who bike, etc. (Likewise for #CHP’s #StartSmart and other state driver’s ed efforts!)

Why? Streets Are For Everyone (SAFE) is doing a research project about #California drivers’ knowledge of #driving laws. SAFE's goal is to have data on what laws #drivers retain after taking their CA #DMV driving test and what newer laws they're aware of. SAFE states that “once the survey is completed with sufficient responses, it will be used to propose legislation about how CA DMV should provide #ContinuingEducation for new and existing #driving laws.”

I am taking a #Spanish class at the local community college starting next week. PD to help me communicate better with families. Will be weird being back in the classroom as a student. Really looking forward to it.

I've already warned my Spanish-speaking k-12 students, but it wasn't really necessary - they've already (inadvertently) taught me the most common school-inappropriate words anyhow.
