  1. Today I got to have the full #intuitionist #constructivist #maths experience.

First, somebody half-jokes that if one is a constructivist, then one's friends won't talk to them anymore.

Then, somebody else says that #constructivism is a deviant counterculture.

At this point, like a fool, I link Bauer's "five stages" paper: ams.org/journals/bull/2017-54-

But alas, somebody actually reads the paper, and they think that the whole paper is a joke. They have two concrete questions, which I answer using relevant examples.

This was all in the context of #homotopy #TypeTheory, for what it's worth.

  2. Reading this recent (2022) article from Fritjof Capra:
    The organization of the living:
    Maturana’s key insights
included in the latest Constructivist Foundations volume 18(1): 005–011

and I am continually bewildered by the fact that no one in the #Constructivist field figured out yet that #Autopoiesis, although necessary, is not the sufficient condition for #Life.

All #LivingSystems are in fact #DynamicalSystems with memory made of #Material, #Energy, and #Information structures participating continually in both auto- and allopoietic processes.

In fact, the recursive, #Autopoietic processes of learning and growth depend only on (are “structurally coupled” with) the linear #Allopoietic work processes dealing with all the things (resources, waste) in the system’s environment and producing the externally observable #behavior of the living (dynamical) system.

  3. Anyone familiar with the idea that the #DorsalStream is #DirectPerception and the #VentralStream is #Constructivist ? Just came across a paper on it from 2002, and want to make sure it's not considered totally debunked before I read it. This is an area I've been trying to better understand lately
