I finished a pretty solid translation of the Letter from Iddin-Sin to Zinu, an Old Babylonian letter of a young man to his mother, into my Germanic #conlang, Ru̇u̇ťalis.
It is dated to the 18th century B. C. (!) and is therefore one of the oldest surviving examples of writing out there.
In the letter, Iddin-Sin complains about the clothing his mother makes him, comparing it to his more fashionable classmates.
In the replies to this post, I will post the Ru̇u̇ťalis translation sentence by sentence, including a gloss and the English equivalent!
