A few things I would like for #chromeos, but #google probably won't do it.
1. Widgets. It is handy having things showing up like #conky does in #linux. Even #android has widgets and I use them.
2. Start up manager. I want full control of what starts that isn't core OS. Sure, some apps won't start as fast or won't be able to sent notifications. I don't care, if it isn't running as an app I don't want the service running most of the time. I don't want third party app to do this, I don't want to root MY device, just give me a tool to manage my system.
3. Being able to delete third party apps that came with the device. Slop, slop, slop. MicroSlop products and other commercial apps should be completely removable.
4. Give me more than light/dark mode. I prefer to be able to set things like the title bar to be extremely obvious that it is the foreground task. I want a slightly thicker border around apps. Why? in dark mode when I overlay an app it is not obvious where the border is for the app.
5. Be like #linux when starting up. I can choose a kernel to run or let the current be the default after a few seconds. That way if there is a bad system update I can boot to the older version.

Okay, #waybar… I’m not complaining, but I’m baffled by it. It’s as if someone decided #Conky was perfect, just arranging things horizontally was difficult. There are no modern niceties of any kind. Fine, now I have a multi-command script. It checks if the configuration was updated and reloads Waybar. It pulls some custom info. It even renders the clock because displaying the time as “9:30” instead of “09:30” is apparently problematic.

@codeDude @Fando #LUA se usa bastante, #Conky también se puede extender y pulir mediante extensiones programadas en LUA. Cabe mencionar que Minetest ahora se llama #Luanti, precisamente en honor al lenguaje con el que se desarrolla y alejándose de pleitos legales por semejanza con la marca comercial de Minecraft.

Después de un montón de años, he hecho una pequeña actualización de mi escritorio en @archlinux !! 😅

Reflotando el viejo y querido #conky con las estadísticas principales del sistema siempre ahí de fondo.
Es transparente en realidad, pero como no he cargado el compositor (exprimiendo cada ciclo de CPU 😉) se ve el fondo negro.
Pero bueno, al menos tengo esos datos a mano ahora 😃
