🚢 The Pearl of the Dane, Congleton in England. This abandoned floating restaurant closed around 25 years ago. The tides of misfortune have now turned, and she is under renovation!
Originally a 1970s Danish fishing trawler. In the 1990s it was refitted to resemble a 1920s Mississippi River steamboat.

I took The Boy for a walk around #Astbury today, and then to #Congleton park. I think he enjoyed it.

Labour overturned a majority of more than 18,000 and beat the Conservatives in #Congleton, my constituency. The seat has always been a Conservative stronghold since the constituency was first formed more than 40 years ago.
My vote in all the years I’ve lived here (24) has always felt like a token protest gesture, but not anymore. I couldn’t possibly be happier. #GE2024

Got a bit carried away at Congleton's market this morning! There were so many stalls with #vegan offerings 😄
I ended up with two jars of Africa Al's cooking pastes after being able to try dip samples at the stall. I found a recipe booklet on their website with veggie suggestions including a Blackeyed Bean one that the stallholder himself recommended https://africa-als.co.uk/
I also got a bag of Scottish Tablet which is delicious but sooo sweet! I forget how my palate has changed over the past half-decade.
And I have a (not pictured) Vegan Moroccan Butternut pie for tonight's dinner, plus a big bag of fruit & veggies from the lovely, friendly Greengrocer's just up the road. -
