Applied to #figma #config2023, got rejected. Was offered a free ticket anyway. Asked for feedback why, didn't get an answer.
Applied for this year again, got rejected. Was offered a ticket for a 50% discount, though. 🤔
This time I didn't bother asking why, cause I know that a topic with no #ai and Figma in it won't be interesting for them.

On that note SF, it’s been lovely visiting. Thanks to #Config2023 for the excuse. Alongside this dude I’m riding BART toward SFO for a flight home tonight. Enjoy #SFPRIDE2023

Me, after #Config2023: Phew! Enough of that design nonsense. Time to play video games and be a sloth.
Apple: Here’s the #visionOS SDK.

My Figma #config2023 releases fav list:
1. Auto-layout wrap. This gets us close to finally full responsive components. Let’s get rid of lots of variants and pointless wrapper frames.
2. Variables. Super cool to quickly build dark modes or tinted interfaces like Material 3.
3. Text truncation based on lines (think line-clamp) instead of fixed height. -

The moment you scan the crowd at #Figma #Config2023, you’ll realize that our #UX industry has a dramatic, if not cruel, diversity problem.

Omg they finally implemented flex-wrap: wrap; 🙌 #config2023

Lovely new changes and updates announced today at #Config2023 Figma truly is a magical piece of software, and with the acquisition of Diagram it might becomes even more magical 🧙
-
ooh string, int and bool variables coming to #figma, that’ll help with handoff #config2023
show me a designer that doesn’t like spreadsheets!
also auto-layout now has flex wrap it seems, which is not grid but not nothing

NGL, I am jealous of the people already at SF for #Config2023, only because I did have a chance, but reality bites and I couldn't just "rush" things. Visa requirements especially when coming from the global South is tough to just do on a whim.
Here's hoping I get to attend in person (?) next year, but for now, will be tuning in virtually!

I had a dream of MS Paint overtaking Figma and Sketch tools. 🥺
Drop a comment if you have ever used MS Paint in your childhood 🫡
