I've long dreamed of having a Canadian equivalent; as bands close down, their music is often discarded because no one will take it, but this is torching our cultural heritage! Libraries I've approached say they just don't have the room.

I worry when I play Those Old Tunes for audiences who know those old tunes really really well. It was a worry playing #concertband shows for seniors homes, they KNEW what this music COULD be, from "back in the day".

Wanted to share this performance of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherezade arranged for wind band, from the soundtrack to Hibike Euphonium. Scheherezade is one of my favorite pieces, and this recording is fantastic. I think the arrangement does a great job of capturing the texture of the piece, which I feel is really important in adapting orchestral music for wind band. :mmikusing:
