fellow ADHD cats: ever feel like your medication suddenly went from "making you alert" to "making you incredibly sleepy, holy shit, how am I so fucking tired, I can barely keep my eyes open, what is happening"?

Thank goodness if they implement this in WA. GPs already have limited authority to prescribe here but can only issue the patient's current dose, as my son's GP confirmed at his last appointment.
In other ADHD-related-weirdness news, I know the percussive, Pavlovian sound of a shaken Concerta bottle, I realised with shock at the chemist when I got up to collect it without being called!

I wish the medication shortage had been more of an election issue. Lots of people are struggling to get their scripts filled for a variety of conditions.
My son is doing well academically and emotionally right now, but every month I dread going to the pharmacy to be told they're out of his Concerta. Last month it was three chemists before I got some - the last one they had.
Why doesn’t Australia make more medicines? Wouldn’t that fix drug shortages?

People don't bitch about #Adderall enough. Seriously. What are you afraid of?
I've been on it since I was a youngster. It has become next to impossible to get the Rx filled these days. It's absolutely ridiculous.
I have an accredited doctor who I happen to convene with via Telehealth. She's part of my whole clinical network/ insurance company, #Geisinger .
#Walmart refuses to fill the script because it's a #telehealth Dr.
This comes as a surprise because
1.) I've had the Rx filed by Walmart off-and-on over the past 20 years or so.
2.) I had no issues with #CVS / no idea that this was "a thing"Now closer to a WM pharm vs the prev CVS, it made sense to have this month sent here
(Adderall patients are forced through this rigmarole every 30 days). Why don't more people bitch? Haven't you been affected?

sigh.
#MentalHealth #ADHD
so I swapped for a week from #Adderall to #Concerta which I was on a year ago, to see if maybe it would help with the muscle pain.
Meanwhile, work exploded in a way that made previous explosions look like sunshine and rainbows. And I couldn't cope. I had my first #panicattack ever. I've had shadows of them, but this was the first full-on.

CW: Prescription drug use, Adhd, note to self
A journal entry
Trying to reduce my #Methylphenidate (#concerta/ #ritalin) intake as I have built up quite a tollerence to it, the other day I had to take 70mg of concerta and multiple doses of 10mg ritalin throughout the day, so I think like 120mg tottal?
Today I just took my concerta I could feel it were off like 3hrs later even though it supposed to last 12, but I didn't take anymore today,
And God fucking Damm I was a cranky bitch this arvo, like I was just so irritable.
I have talked to my doctor about it and he said its okay to take breaks of the medication and actually recommend to take break off it when I'm not working.
Thinking about no meth tommorow to see how I go
Also thinking about maybe talking to my doc about switching to #dexamphetamine since I'm so used to Methylphenidate now

Anyone else end up with gut issues? I'm on the lowest Concerta ER dose and it's just major discomfort.
Sort of haven't been taking it now for two days because I didn't like that feeling. I'm guessing I should probably ride it out?

Decided to try #ADHD meds again. Last time was before we had my #depression and #anxiety handled. Now I'm in maintain mode with them (took a few years). So, I talked with my Dr. about trying again.
I was put on Adderall back in my 20's. Got a shitload done but had serious anger issues when it would start wearing off. Called a robot.
Concerta last time had my anxiety through the roof.
We're trying #Concerta again since #Adderall got outlawed by my person. #MentalHealth

#TDAH #ADHD

So, one week and a bit in with #Concerta and I'm a bit frustrated. Not sure what I expected the meds to do but they don't seem to be doing much apart from raising my blood pressure and giving me palpitations from time to time. And a headache when I crash after 12 hours or so. Yes, I am a bit more focused and find it easier to concentrate on one thing but I still can't just 'get up and go', it's still like wading through treacle to get things started. Ah well... #adhd #meds

Heads up that the Adderall shortage has wandered over to the Concerta/Ritalin/Methylphenidate side of the fence. It may depend on your dose and whether it’s extended release. But my pharmacy’s provider has no idea when they will have more 36mg ER in. Not sure about 54 (which I was just going to see if I could move to).

@Staceys55 That goes to show how different things work in each country. My doctor didn't prescribe me concerta because of what it would cost me, but a neutral brand so that it would not cost me so much. Doctor and pharmacist say they work the same as #concerta. But what triggered my toot is that apart from treating my ADD symptoms, it also has had a massive positive impact on the depression I had. And I wonder if happens often (if at all?) that a depression is treated with adhd medication..

Does anyone have experience with getting prescribed #methylphenidate extended release (still often referred to as #concerta) off label? So without an #ADD or #ADHD diagnoses.
For me it works wonders on my mood in general, mental energy, concentration/focus, fatique. Just to be clear, I don't get high from it. It just allows me to live a life as normal as possible..

Did you know that patients can report negative medication reactions, adverse events, or concerns that a generic doesn't work like the original medication?
I want to spread the word in advance of the announcement that Janssen will no longer make the OROS generic for Concerta.
