I just want a COVID vaccine. I'm immune compromised and eligible so why don't I have one? Because the IT system won't let me.
Fair enough, apps have funny five minutes, there's a phone number I can call. Apparently all they do is go into the app. They can't book either. The sympathy down the line is real but #ComputerSaysNo All they can suggest is a call to #NHSEngland and request my record is altered as that must be the problem.
So I call them. They are just bemused 🙄

Last night, right as I was about to shutdown, my desktop computer just suddenly powered off. I tried to power it back on, and got nothing. Then I noticed a lovely burning smell. My guess is the power supply, but we'll see this weekend when I get a chance to open it up and do surgery.

@jcbrand
We were wrong about the above — #BendigoBank is not man-in-the-middled by CloudFlare…It's #MITM'd by #AmazonCloudFront
The landing and product pages were CloudGlare, and its seems CloudGlare palm the hapless Aussie to (sc)amazon, to watch and control the actual #banking portal part of the site.

CW: Long thread/3
Today edition of the *Prospect* continues the series with an essay by #ElizabethWarren, describing how her proposal for #UniversalChildCare was defeated by the incoherent, deeply political assumptions of the #CongressionalBudgetOffice's model, blocking an important and popular policy simply because #ComputerSaysNo:

For the record, these banking crimes are just more #proxyWar. They gaslight us into thinking its only a computer glitch, (#ComputerSaysNo), or just this one bank, or fighting some broader threat.
No. Its #theInternet and #institutions being taken over by #sociopathic, power-thirsty #blackHats. The nature of #SilentWar is such that you don't know its happening under your nose.
As such we cannot lament banks dying.
If they allowed bitcoin to fix this, things would be so improved.

Much to the surprise of most dissenters of #Malthus' writings he did have a third scenario, which we like to describe as #ConvivialSufficiency.For us it is a question of how we get there. Is it via massSurveillance and #ComputerSaysNo AI. Or do we just embrace less for *all*. We think #bitcoin's public (and optionally private) ledger is a good way to opt out and embrace #LimitsToGrowth in our view, with its limited supply.
Can we acheive it without neoFeudal #dotCons?

@uint8_t In the #Smallprint of the #SocialContract of #MassSociety it’s implicit that only #UseCases amenable to #EconomiesOfScale will enjoy proper support. It’s the true root cause of #ComputerSaysNo.

Late update on the old bing/linmob.net problem: They actually call that "support". #computersaysno
I have started to make #LinBits updates more different from one another, and consider apache-ing Minimola for another theme. as I've been told other Minima-blogs had similar issues.
