Would anyone in Ireland know how to put pressure on SIRO to get a connection point changed? We have tried two providers and they insist it has to go to a box on the front of the neighbours house two doors down rather than the pole. The neighbours are, rightly IMO, refusing. This seems ridiculous to me and they keep saying it can't be swicthed.

Took: 2 people, 45 minutes for slowly re-doing what has been done already...

They request a formal email with evidence that my record is wrong. They can give no indication on timings (days, weeks, months?). I've sent an email and got an auto response stating 'high volumes' and 'expect delays'.

I contact my GP. All they do is access the same system. I ask for compassion but #ComputerSaysNo They think that my flu jab was either misrecorded or was in fact a COVID jab.

These things happen I guess but I have to go back to the pharmacy. All the admin is mine 🤷

I just want a COVID vaccine. I'm immune compromised and eligible so why don't I have one? Because the IT system won't let me.

Fair enough, apps have funny five minutes, there's a phone number I can call. Apparently all they do is go into the app. They can't book either. The sympathy down the line is real but #ComputerSaysNo All they can suggest is a call to #NHSEngland and request my record is altered as that must be the problem.

So I call them. They are just bemused 🙄

@recantha When RAD tools came with front end click & code ease of use there was concern - “some office clerk will destroy the art of « real » consul coding, when C arrived, assembler coders pointed out bad decisions it made. In the end it is the human weakness in dropping responsibility, avoiding costs of quality & testing outcomes. Need laws -More powerful the tool the larger responsibility- ask the post office victims how they feel about decision making tools. #ComputerSaysNo

Last night, right as I was about to shutdown, my desktop computer just suddenly powered off. I tried to power it back on, and got nothing. Then I noticed a lovely burning smell. My guess is the power supply, but we'll see this weekend when I get a chance to open it up and do surgery.

Mit genau dieser Frage habe ich mich - und zahlreichen Forschende -bereits beschäftigt. Auch wenn am Ende der Mensch das Häkchen setzen wird, nehmen diese den Computer als "neutral-objektiv" wahr und glauben ihm.
