Just had the weirdest experience with my #windows PC.

A client sent me a link to a #MicrosoftTeams meeting that i participated in via my #firefox browser.

In the beginning it was just me and one other person in the call, and everything was fine. As soon as the 3rd and final person joined the call however my computer kind of went haywire - it was as if the mouse was suddenly clicking on random places on the screen and opening up random apps. I had to really struggle to close things down and keep focused on the meeting.

It persisted even after I left the call, closed down the firefox window and I had to do a hard restart of the computer to get it to stop, cause I couldn't even control the mouse to shut down normally.

Everything was fine again as soon as I restarted the system.

Anyone have any idea what might have caused this? And how to avoid it happening again?

Can someone #help ? trying to burn a CD in xfburn on my laptop. My internal optical drive is faulty (tried to install an OS from it and it was super slow and failed multiple times before I found my external drive).

The program does not identify my external optical drive as a possible burn device. How do I get it to display the external drive?

For added context when I turned on my laptop I went to open Libreoffice. Libreoffice did not open after several minutes and clicks (firefox did tho)... rebooted and it gave me this.

I'm trying to open old AOL .art files (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ART_image_file_format). I've tried numerous online file converters without success. I found them on an old floppy disk, and I'm really curious what they are.

I'm using Windows 11 on an HP computer. Are there any free up-to-date ways to open these files? Thanks for any advice you might have!

Anyone on here want to assuage my fears? I'm trying to give an old iMac to a stranger in need. I wiped the internal drive, but it's a Fusion Drive. The SSD can't do a "secure erase". I've split the drive into its partitions, and secure erased the HDD. Am I cool with just a simple TRIM erase on the SSD? #macOS #it #computerhelp #techsupport #tech

Example: I want to read 200 books, I have 200 at the end and I can just type in the number of books I read and the line progresses towards to the goal -- filling in, train running on track to end, something like that.

The #SSD drive which runs my Windows desktop died & I can no longer #boot (no bios found & it fails SMART).

2nd #HDD hard drive passes #SMART. Need to pay someone to install new SSD drive and Windows. OEM Windows license means $ for another license.

I have a #MacriumReflect image of all the partitions, but it is an image, not a clone. I don't think I can reinstall Windows that way. Would also like to recover any SSD data not backed up to the image which is 1 month old

Above all, I want nothing to impact the 2nd HDD drive which is where the bulk of my data is stored. I have these files backed up through Thursday. Really really don't want to have to reinstall apps, browser extensions but seems inevitable

Question: What do I need to tell the computer tech specifically to do, and to avoid doing?

On my boyfriend's gaming laptop, and I saw this last time, there's a genuine char/burnt mark on top of the CPU die. It's not broken, this is clearly material that has burnt onto it. You can slightly feel it as a rough raised surface. The original paste was IC Diamond 7 from the factory for a few years.

Trying to figure out what could cause this (fingerprint oil?) And best way to remove it? It slowly rubs onto alcohol cotton ball, but slow. #ComputerHelp #PCBuilding #Laptop
