    Also last night, I mentioned how Borodin’s 2nd symphony, 1st movement, written 1869-1876, sounds just like a film noir score/late 1950s cop show theme—check it out!—and we got onto a chat about ‘les cinq’.

    N’s violin teacher told me that César Cui wrote a bunch of miniatures for violin and piano that no one plays anymore. I downloaded all the scores this aft and will listen to the pieces tomorrow.
