  27. I've got a spare ticket for day 2 of the 🏏 at in August. Any of my fedichums want it? @edwinb? @rl_dane?

And yes, of course I have 🏏 mapped on my keyboard.

  28. Useful character: the unicode zero width space ''.

Ever wanted to @mention someone without pinging them, but felt awkward doing the space thing ala @ mention?

With the zero-width space assigned to your compose key, you have a solution at your fingertips :D

  29. Anyone has an idea why for a few weeks, the #ComposeKey under #X11 on #Debian Unstable (set via "setxkbmap -option compose:menu -option compose:rwin -option compose:rctrl -option compose:ralt") suddenly only works if I release it before pressing the first key of the wanted key combo?

If you see e.g. a "a instead of an ä from me, it's because I was used to already press " before I released the Compose Key. Very annoying and happens far too often. 🤬

  30. @stevensrmiller @developit On Linux, you have something called the compose key that I have mapped to my Caps Lock (CL).

    So if I want to do a superscript, I press CL + ^ + 1 (or 2, 3, etc.) and get ¹ ² ³…

    Similarly, I can type CL + - + - + . to get an en dash (–), CL + - + - + - to get an em dash (—), or CL + t + m to get ™, etc.
