@NASA.gov has lots of short Artemis videos on their YouTube channel (@[email protected]), however this 10h10m video of the Artemis II lunar flyby appears to be the closest to a continuous long-form recording of the live stream during that period.

After almost 14 minutes of intro footage, this live recording has some amazing moments in context such as when the Integrity crew named the two craters on the moon, the forty minute “Loss of Signal” (LoS) as Integrity went behind the moon, came back out, then into a solar eclipse, and of course all the very efficient (and competent) communications between the astronauts and Mission Control (with video of both).
And quotes like Christina's “We do not leave Earth. We choose it.”
Lots of long durations of silence as well. Fitting for a recording of video from space. Also great for putting on in the background while working. The crew comms with control competency alone is inspiring.

According to the pledge of Allegiance, the United States is a republic with liberties not a democracy with freedoms. “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
At least traditionally, even before the word God was added to it.
With the advent of decades of large corporations influencing lobbying for financial self gain, and recently a sizable number of individuals banking the system to compete in the billions of dollars for private profit game, hence also influencing the system and directly or indirectly making our economy dependent on their free will, the landscape has changed. It’s not a surprise that the country has weakened, overall.
The system now behaves like it was intended in 1776 with the vile economical principle of, “All for yourself and nothing for other people.” Literally speaking, the United States of America in 2024 has become a plutonomy, or what’s referred to as “a society where the wealth is controlled by a select few and where economic growth becomes dependent on that same wealthy minority” where the precariat, or precarious proletariat as Chomsky puts, often votes against its own interests.
In a plutonomy, plutocracy not meritocracy tends to dominate. Go figure; Plutonomy — Plutocracy! The two examples that come to my mind are the United States (Plutocracy) and China (Confucius Meritocracy). In her provocative article, “Can meritocracy replace democracy: A conceptual framework, Baogang He states that China is a Confucian meritocracy, meaning that the communist party only recruits the best in a scale of competency to run the country. The former is a major shift in governance against the soviet communist model of leadership that collapsed in 1985. In the last thirty years, China has become a superpower experiencing exponential growth in a number of areas including its economy.
At the same time, the United States became an elitist plutocracy resulting, at least in part, in the country experiencing tremendous stagnation as an economic system near collapsing its real estate micro system in 2008. In a plutocracy, those who control the wealth often make the final decisions about governance, albeit not necessarily the best ones. It’s no accident, therefore, that China is rising and our nation is on a decline.
Wealth isn’t always representative of competency. When the Chinese strive to hire the most competent person for the job in order to advance their empire, we insist on elevating the tradition of “If a person is wealthy he/she knows best or other often non-sense reasons with little practical application for the advancement of our economy like the use of AI to fake competency.”
A new world order has been established, it seems, and we are not it. Indeed, military force still plays a major role in geopolitics, especially among admiralty laws, hence our military budget being so large!
Inheritance money may help some to sustain a decadent micro system temporarily but to reform a macro system and engage in influential global leadership as a state, competency is a requirement. Use fake competency at your own peril.
Meritocracy is here to stay.
