    Medical Aid in Dying to Become Legal in New York 🤗 14th Jurisdiction in USA

    Governor Hochul to sign bill with special requirements:

    - A mandatory waiting period of 5 days between when a prescription is written and filled.

    - An oral request by the patient for medical aid in dying must be recorded by video or audio.

    - A mandatory mental health evaluation of the patient seeking medical aid in dying by a psychologist or psychiatrist.

    Vermont opens Medical aid in dying to non-residents 🙏

    “The #Vermont Legislature has passed and the Governor has signed a bill removing the residency requirement from Act 39, the Patient Choice at End of Life law. This means that providing medical aid in dying to anyone in Vermont regardless of their legal state of residency is now legal.”
