Spent a silly amount of time, as per usual, messing with my #CompanionBot Archimedes today. I'm replacing his worn-out CD accents with this bike inner-tube material I love #upcycling. Come hassle me about progress! 😆
(Gave up on adhesives, and this method works much better: improved attachment, without waiting hours for it to dry, & with much lower respiratory risk in my apartment. Blog soon at https://glow-ahead.ghost.io/#/portal )

It's a collage of multiple 3D models brought into https://plotter.vision – an awesome tool by @th – to turn the STLs into wireframe SVGs. You can zoom, rotate, and control other aesthetic factors 🤩
I dumped each piece into @inkscape and then put them together.

Working on a "Beanie Bots" concept :) First new #CompanionBot in a while, doing the simplest possible thing with a discontinued LightBlue Bean and @alpenglow Coin Cell Power LiPo adapter as the base.
As part of that, trying to resurrect the LBBean ecosystem as much as possible!

I should kick off this thread with Archimedes, the #owl #CompanionBot in the first pic! Made him for #BayArea #MakerFaire in May '18, with a #RaspberryPi brain, then updated in '21 with an #Arduino for motor control.
I've been working on smaller versions since then – including Nano'Medes here, with #origami wings – and plugging away at the new "Prince Stolas" version. Both use my Companion Core PCB (more on that soon!) 🦉🤖💙✨

I've managed to build a #esp32 qr code reader that sends the QRdata via Bluetooth to a @RaspberryPi pico W and store in a csv file. It will end up in a #Companionbot that I'm going to use in my classroom.
I've been developing this OpenMinds toolkit for a @mtflabs / #Erasmus project for easier prototyping for the Pico board. I had this idea for a completely separate project and ended up using my own toolkit to prototype it. Which is probably a good sign.
