#communityeconomy — Public Fediverse posts

We’ve gotten very used to talking about democracy at a distance.

As something to describe. Debate. Worry about.

Less as something we actually build.

Places like Casa do Impacto matter because they make democracy feel practical again. Tangible. Workable.

Not a system above people. A space shaped by them.

Some buildings hold history.
Casa do Impacto, in Lisbon, holds possibility.

Inside this former convent, educators, entrepreneurs, and youth innovators are turning imagination into infrastructure.

A living example of how social enterprise can rehearse democracy.

Dear fedizens, your help is appreciated;
I’m looking for new projects.

About me. I work on #DigitalSovereignty, Commons and #CommunityEconomy from developing strategies for organisations to be more in line with their mission and values, to research existing free/libre software and open source solutions and communities; from internal migration of in-house solutions to networked migrations to value-aligned social networks.

Maybe to be prepared, we don't only need to have sufficient stocks and a battery powered radio, but more local communities producing whatever are our first needs. For me it connects to the #CommunityEconomy, with local energy grids in the hands of neighbours, telecommunications infrastructure that is owned and governed by your local community, food coops and community supported agriculture.

With @commonsnetwork we're working on the #CommunityEconomy, an economy for and by the people through initiatives that are local-first, with shared ownership and self-directed, inclusive decision-making.

🌿 What if the economy was in the hands of the community?

Instead of shareholders far away, we put local community, well-being, ownership and collaboration at the center.

NEW: Cooperative in Amsterdam Nieuw-West! 🌱
Building a greener, more connected city through cooperatives!

🌟 We’re excited about the recent launch of Groen Coöperatie (Green Cooperative) in Amsterdam Nieuw-West - a powerful example of the Community Economy in action!

The cooperative ensures that communities have direct ownership over their neighbourhood’s green spaces, keeping economic and social value where it belongs - within the community, not in the hands of private profit-driven entities.

By giving people a say in how their local environment is shaped, Groen Coöperatie fosters stronger, more resilient neighbourhoods.
